China

I couldn't get on my blog in China so I will fill you in about what we've done in the past month!

China is a super country and I really love it. There are lots of food markets where they sell spiders, snakes, beetles and scorpions on sticks to eat! I haven't been brave enough to try any though.

Our first stop was Beijing where we visited the forbidden city which is a huge series of palaces where all the emperors of China used to live. We also visited the great wall of China which was very special to see-it is a wall which goes along the border of China which was built to keep enemies out! We walked along it for about 2 hours and it was really steep in places, very tiring to walk along! On another day we went to the summer palace, where the emperors spent their holidays, and we went on a dragon boat around the lake which was lovely. We met Miss McIntyre's brother who lives in Beijing and we went go-karting with him. He went round really fast but I was a wimp and only went slowly!

We then got a bus to a place called Xian, you get a bed on the bus and can go to sleep! There we visited the terrocotta warriors which are statues of an army built to protect an emperor after he had died, they were really detailed and there were 7000 of them!

Then we got a very fast train to shanghai which is a very modern city with lots of cool buildings which light up at night. There is also a street of very old buildings which are interesting.

After Shanghai we visited Hangzhou which is a little CHinese town, there was a huge lake where we took another boat trip which was fab. It was soooo hot- 38degrees! We saw an aerobics class and a dance class outside in a park, they also have their gyms outside!

The final place we visited in China was called Tongli and was a little village on a set of canals. There were no cars and the people who live there get around on boats or bicycles. It was very peaceful after all the cities and we took a small boat around the canals.

Everybody stares at me because I have blonde hair and pale skin and lots of people come over and ask if they can have a photograph with me which is funny!

I miss you all and I hope you enjoy starting in your new classes. We have just arrived in Thailand so I will let you know soon what I get up to.

Miss Thompson.
